Eagles in touch despite loss

MAFFRA remains just two points outside the Gippsland League netball ladder despite a 48-42 loss at home to Drouin.

Going down to one top five side, the Eagles had the job ahead of them if they are to make the finals, with their remaining four matches against the rest of the top five, beginning this weekend against Morwell.

ROUND 13 was not unlucky for Sale, who made it 13 wins in a row with a 70-29 victory at in bitterly cold conditions at Warragul.

When the under 13 team arrived the temperature was only three degrees.

Montanna Holmes went into defence in the place of unavailable Kate Eddy, as all the Magpies mid-court players stood-up in the victory.

The Magpies have good preparation for the finals coming up with matches against an improving Moe team, Bairnsdale, who is always hard to beat, Maffra, who lifts for matches against Sale, and top five teams Drouin and Morwell.

IN other matches, Traralgon defeated Moe 56-43, Morwell was too strong for Bairnsdale, winning 64-46, and Leongatha defeated Wonthaggi 53-35.
