Netball finals begin

GORMANDALE will meet Churchill in the North Gippsland A grade netball second semi-final after a 39-36 win over Heyfield in the qualifying final last weekend.

Heyfield will get the chance to rebound from that loss in the elimination against Woodside, who ended Rosedale’s season with a 42-40 win in the elimination final.

In B grade, Gormandale won the qualifying final against Traralgon-Tyers United 54-37 and Sale City overcame Cowwarr 36-34 in the elimination final.

Rosedale defeated Glengarry 40-32 in the C grade qualifying final, while TTU ended Heyfield’s season 42-29 in the elimination final.

In D grade, the qualifying final was won by Gormandale over Rosedale 38-30, while Sale City defeated Churchill in the elimination final 26-22.

The under 17 qualifying final was won by Heyfiled 42-34 against Sale City. Glengarry defeated Boisdale-Briagolong 36-23 in the elimination final.

Sale City defeated Woodside 24-27 in the under 15 qualifying final with Heyfield winning the elimination final against Gormandale 24-12.

WY Yung ended Lakes Entrance’s A grade season by winning the East Gippsland netball first semi-final 38-36 on Sunday.

The Tigers will meet the loser of this Sunday’s second semi-final between Stratford and Lucknow.

Lindenow defeated Lucknow 46-40 in B grade.

Stratford needed extra time to win the C grade first semi 32-30.

Lakes Entrance knocked Stratford out of the C grade reserve premiership race with a 31-23 win.

In D grade, Lindenow defeated Orbost-Snowy Rovers 42-32.
