SALE Swimming Club had a team of 21 swimmers venture to Wodonga on the Australia Day long weekend to compete in the Victorian Country Swimming Championships.
Under the guidance and support of coaches Donna Rowand and Debbie Taylor many personal best times were swum.
A highlights was the 12 and under girls’ relay team of Eliza Jeffs, Charlie Noble, Hollie Rowand and Hannah Shepherd finishing in third place.
Another highlight was Charlie Noble winning a bronze medal in the 12 years girls’ 100 butterfly.
Megan Keil had an outstanding meet, making the finals of individual events and finishing the weekend with a bronze medal in the 13 years girls’ 100 butterfly.
She was also a member of the team which made the final of the 16 and under girls’ medley relay.
Other Sale swimmers who made finals included Eliza Jeffs in the 12 years girls’ 100 metre freestyle and backstroke, and Jake Hutchins in the 11 and under boys’ 50m butterfly and freestyle.
Other members of the Sale squad were Tatterson, Josh Tatterson, Lachlan Shepherd, Miranda Shepherd, Jo Rowand, Chloe Haylock, Niamh Van Berkel, Alex Seys, Aaron Castle, James Wisely, Shauna Anderson, Hamish Anderson, Tilley Gordon, Joel Hutchins and Julia Rainey.
The club will host the Gippsland championships over the Labour Day weekend, March 8 to 10.
