United fights back to draw

SALE United came from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Traralgon City.

The result has the second-placed Swans eight points behind Gippsland Soccer League leader Churchill United.

The Swans were goal down at half-time on Sunday before things got worse with the home side scoring again early in the second half. Dau Mayen scored both goals for the Roosters.

The Swans responded with goals from Raymond Allred and Dean Nicholls to share the points. They are two points ahead of third-placed Fortuna.

Fortuna moved into third position with an 8-0 away win over Traralgon Olympians.

Hayden Tanti scored four goals.

Moe United missed an opportunity to go level with Sale on the ladder, drawing 1-1 at home with Monash. The result meant the Red Devils fell from third to fifth place.

Luke Cheney scored five goals as Churchill defeated Tyers 9-0 at home.

On Saturday night, Falcons defeated Morwell Pegasus 4-0.

Newborough-Yallourn United had the bye.

SALE United will head to Tyers this Sunday to take on the league’s bottom-placed side.

Also on Sunday, Newborough-Yallourn will host Churchill, Monash will be home against Falcons, Olympians will head to Traralgon to play Olympians, and Traralgon City will host Moe.

Fortuna will have the bye.
