The Kangaroos defeated the ladder-leading Blues 42-38 at home. The second-placed Kangaroos are only one win behind the Blues on the ladder.

Third-placed Gormandale was too strong for Yarram, winning 72-29.

Woodside gave its finals hopes a boost with a 62-30 victory over Glengarry.

Churchill defeated Sale City 30-12, while Cowwarr moved into fourth place with a 31-30 win over Traralgon-Tyers United.

Boisdale-Briagolong had the bye.

EAST Gippsland leader Stratford was too strong at home for Wy Yung, winning 60-42.

The Swans are still 16 points ahead of second-placed Lindenow, who accounted for Lakes Entrance 48-32.

Lucknow was upset by Orbost-Snowy Rovers, 35-31.

Paynesville had the bye.
