Man hands himself in after alpaca shooting at Nambrok

A MAN has handed himself into police, following the fatal shooting of a pet alpaca in Nambrok last week.

The 39-year-old attended Sale Police Station on Tuesday afternoon and was interviewed in relation to alleged firearms offences.

The Traralgon man will be summoned to appear at court at a later date.

It is alleged the man was trespassing on a Nambrok hobby farm when he shot the animal.

The owner heard gunshots and discovered a wound in the three-year-old animal's neck.

Police said there had been reports of illegal hunting in the area
