HORSE racing returns to Sale on Wednesday, with an eight-race program, beginning at 1.05pm.
While entry to midweek races is free of charge, people need to register at country.racing.com/sale before attending the event.
Entered in race one, the 1105 metre maiden plate, Arroance has second and third placings in her previous two starts over this distance. Candy Puzzle came third over a similar distance at Ararat, but sustained a leg injury which has seen out of racing for 12 weeks.
Sweet Sixteen returns after a 30-weeks break to contest race two, the 1205m three-year-old maiden plate, having placed second and third twice during her previous campaign.
El Rocko, Kick and Tonquani showed some promise when placing in their previous starts, and will look to break their maiden status in race three, the 1205m two-year-old maiden plate.
In race four, the 1205m fillies and mares benchmark 70 handicap, Vinni Rose placed third at Mornington, but did win at Pakenham early last month. Florescent Star placed in all bar one of her runs (including a win in February).
A winner on Maffra Cup day, Delightful Hustler returns to Sale for race five, the 1411m benchmark 64 handicap. Obi is a consistent performer (placing second in his past three runs), even if he hasn't won since January last year.
In race six, the 1728m benchmark 64 handicap, Boss'n The Moss, trained by Peter Gelagotis as Moe, won last start at Pakenham, while Mr Roger has been in good form, but will be tested by the extra distance.
Among the picks for race seven, the 2219m benchmark 70 handicap, Coin Collector has a third and two second placings from his previous three runs over 2500m. Green Ivy can go the distance, having won at Moonee Valley last start.
Gennady and Toff Choice are coming off lengthy spells for race eight, the 1205m benchmark 64 handicap, but were in good form during their previous preparation.
