Deer shooter’s firearm confiscated

A 35-YEAR-old Yallourn North man had his shooter’s licence suspended and his firearms seized by police after allegedly being caught using a spotlight to hunt deer in the Dargo area.

Briagolong police intercepted the man about 12.45am on Friday, near Dargo and located what was allegedly a loaded firearm in the man’s vehicle. His shooter’s licence was immediately suspended.

The man will be charged on summons with carrying a loaded firearm on a thoroughfare and possession of a regulated spotlight and firearm in a recognized deer habitat.
