THE abuse and misuse of the vilification laws with the Adam Goodes ape jibe and the Eddie McGuire’s gaffe has done more damage to reconciliation and AFL football that I have seen for some time.
There was no racial slur by the 13-year-old and she was badly bullied by Goodes and everybody else and Eddie certainly would be the last to be called racist.
Has it come to be that you cannot barrack at the footy for fear of being called racist and being thrown out?
Is it now to the stage that you have to have a pause button when making a non-racial jovial comment for fear it might be misinterpreted or used to advantage?
Surely there must be intent to offend with a charge of making racial comment.
Get a life everybody and move on.
