Loch Sport school needs assistance

LOCH Sport Primary School is 59 kilometres from Sale, 51.5km from Longford Primary School and 62.1km from Seaspray Primary School.

It is a rural school which is socially and geographically isolated from other schools and communities, with a current enrolment of 24 students.

We are a small school with limited resources trying to make a difference with our students by providing as many experiences and opportunities we are able.

We are disadvantaged by not receiving a video conference system when many schools in and around Sale did receive this technology when they are only a short walk or drive away from one another.

For our school to have this technology we must fund between $11,000 and $17,000 ourselves when other schools receive it free.

Our priority over the past 24 months has been creating a safe environment by implementing a consistent behaviour management approach throughout the school.

We continue to refine work in this area and look ahead at the next 12 months.

We continue to work on making our school a safe, calm and happy place so we can focus on the job of teaching and learning.

We have started to landscape gardens and grounds, and create murals incorporating the values of our school: respect, responsibility, resilience and safety.

We are working with local artists to create fun, safe and happy outdoor spaces to play and learn.

Our priority following this work will be networking with other schools in a frequent and affordable way.

We are seeking support from local and surrounding businesses to help us provide safe, positive and affordable experiences,

We have a major fundraiser on Sunday, November 3.

If you are able to assist in any way, please email Loch Sport Primary School at loch.sport.ps@edumail.vic.gov.au or gall.tracey.a@edumail.vic.gov.au to confirm any donations or assistance you are able to provide.
