REBECCA Ingram from Maffra won gold for Australia at the Commonwealth Youth Games in the Bahamas.
Ingram and partner Carrie Van Rensberg from Sandhurst dominated the beach volleyball competition.
They finished on top of their pool after victories over England and the Bahamas.
The Australian pair then defeated Trinidad and Tobago in the quarter-finals and Rwanda in the semi-finals.
Their best performance was saved for last as Ingram and Van Rensberg defeated the New Zealand team 21-11 and 21-11 to take out the gold medal match and straight sets.
The Australians were over the moon with their success and could not praise their coach Mandy Combes enough.
Ingram will travel to Florida to take up a Scholarship to continue her studies and play volleyball at the Stetson University.
