The Wellington Early Years Expo returns to the Gippsland Regional Sports Complex in Sale on Thursday, April 30, inviting families to enjoy an afternoon of learning and connection for children aged up to five years.
Hosted by Uniting and presented in partnership with Wellington Shire Council, this free community event is designed especially for families with toddlers and preschoolers. It brings together local early years services, organisations and play based experiences all in one welcoming space.
Parents and carers will have the opportunity to speak directly with kindergarten teachers and early years professionals, explore local services and programs, and access practical information to support their child’s development. Children can enjoy a variety of hands-on activities with the ever-popular inflatables also set up, providing plenty of fun and energy for little ones throughout the afternoon.
Building on the success of previous years, the 2026 expo will be bigger and more interactive than ever with new activities joining the program. Even families who have attended before can expect plenty to discover.
Wellington Shire mayor Cindy Madeley said the expo was a valuable event for families and the broader community.
“The Wellington Early Years Expo is a wonderful opportunity for families to speak face to face with kindergarten teachers and early years professionals, ask questions and learn more about the support available locally,” she said.
“It’s a great event for our shire, bringing families together, showcasing the fantastic services we have, and creating a friendly, welcoming space where people feel comfortable connecting.
“It’s also a really enjoyable afternoon for families, with plenty for little ones to enjoy while parents and carers learn more about what’s on offer around Wellington.”
According to council, the Wellington Early Years Expo will provide a positive and supportive environment for families to spend time together, learn through play and strengthen connections within the local community.
The event will take place from 1pm to 5pm at the Gippsland Regional Sports Complex, 116 Cobains Rd, Sale. Families are welcome to drop in at any time during the afternoon.
