’TIS the season to sing Christmas carols and celebrate the festive season as a community.
Local families came together on Tuesday night in Sale to listen to their favourite Christmas carols at the Sale Carols by Candlelight event in the botanic gardens.
Strong winds were no deterrent for the carol lovers who packed blankets and Christmas hats to stay warm as the temperature dropped.
Julie Ward’s choir entertained the crowd with carols, followed by Sale City Band and other singing groups.
Children dressed up in their Christmas best, donning Christmas hats, reindeer antlers and Santa suits.
People shone their flameless candles and sang along.
The Christmas story was shared through song as the three Wise Men followed the Star of Bethlehem to the birth place of Jesus, set up in the LEAF.
