TINAMBA West couple Mat and Amy Daly are on the cover of this year’s Yellow Pages and White Pages.
Mr and Mrs Daly have been selected under the theme ‘Australian Stars Rising Above’, which celebrates people achieving and making positive changes in their communities.
The couple has been helping locals cope with the loss of loved ones.
Motivated by the loss of their daughter Jemma Sue in 2005, who was born 13 weeks early and fought for her life for eight days, the couple set out to support local families experiencing similar losses.
In 2005, the couple established the Jemma Sue Daly Golf Day, to create an event to help Jemma’s legacy live on.
They raised more than $80,000 for local charity groups.
Mr and Mrs Daly’s legacy for their daughter continues with the Little Jem Foundation which connects families in similar situations through counselling and support groups.
The service offers bereavement counselling, peer support groups and referral information on where help is available.
An online support group has also been created, where anyone experiencing the loss of a child or baby can access support as well as professional counselling services.
Their 860 kilometre bike ride from Sydney to Newry exceeded expectations, raising more than $150,000 and attracting more than 500 supporters.
Distribution of the new Yellow Pages and White Pages began on Saturday.
