SMALL business in Maffra is moving forward as business owners unite with a common cause.
Formerly the Maffra Chamber of Commerce, the Maffra Business and Tourism Association reformed recently with the vision of inspiring one another and coming together to attract extra business to the town.
To recognise this milestone, Wellington Shire Council hosted a networking dinner as part of Gippsland Small Business Festival which provided an avenue for businesses across the shire to engage and learn from one another.
Country Road Real Estate and Maffra BTA secretary Kevin Read said association members greatly benefited from the evening.
“Overall it was very productive, a great night, good guest speakers – some very successful people,” Mr Read said.
As it gets ready for its official launch, the Maffra BTA invites all Maffra based businesses to join them as they progress.
“We’ve got a lot of projects that we’ve got ahead of us in the hospitality side of the area, revamping the retail side, so there’s a fair bit to do,” Mr Read said.
The Maffra BTA is looking for new members and will hold its official Launch Breakfast at Duart Homestead on Wednesday, September 16 from 7.30am to 8.30am.
All Maffra business owners are welcome to attend the free event and should take their business cards to enter the lucky door prize draw.
Bookings are essential and can be made by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org by Monday, September 14.
