THE Stratford Shakespeare Festival is calling for more volunteers.

While many people attend the festival every year and enjoy all the events, there is a lot of work that goes on behind the scene to put it on every year.

There is a group of seven people who meet monthly and put the festival together, and the group is now on the lookout for a few others to join the ranks.

Festival organisers say those interested don’t need to ‘know or understand’ Shakespeare, but just have a passion for the community and a desire to help.

The festival requires a couple of hours each month and a few extra hours during the festival with set-ups and various other activities.

It’s also a great way to meet new and interesting people and learn some exciting new skills, or for people to bring a new skillset to the organising committee.

Those interested in putting their hand up can email, or call Aynslie on 0405 633 456 or Helen on 0419 181 972.

The next meeting of the Stratford Shakespeare Festival will be held Thursday, July 14 from 7.30pm at The Stratford Courthouse.
