Gippsland Grammar St Anne’s Campus will present ‘Shrek the Musical JR’.

Students in Year 3-6 have been busy rehearsing, and now that it is nearly time to hit the stage, excitement is immense.

Performances will be held at The Wedge Performing Arts Centre Sale, on Thursday, August 25 and Friday, August 26, with matinee and evening shows. Everyone is welcome, and tickets are available from The Wedge Box Office.

It’s a “Big Bright Beautiful World” as everyone’s favourite ogre, Shrek, leads a cast of fairytale misfits on an adventure to rescue a princess and find true acceptance.

It is based on the DreamWorks Animation Motion Picture and the Book by William Steig from the Broadway Junior Collection.

Shrek is being played by Year 5 student Ashton Carroll and Princess Fiona is Hannah Mack, also in Year 5. But of course, Donkey, played by Oscar Callanan, Year 6, steals the show.

Director Katie Germaine said it would be a spectacular journey through the land of fairytales, and encouraged the community to get behind these amazingly talented student performers.
