Chamber Philharmonia Cologne

AFTER several successful European tours in 2019 and 2020, the Chamber Philharmonia Cologne (Germany) is coming back to Australia in summer 2023 with a powerful and lovely program.

The motto of the ensemble is: ‘Classical music around the world’.

It is irrelevant for our musicians whether they are playing in a little village church, open air, in a cathedral, big theatre, in their hometown Cologne or in Sydney. Their enthusiasm to bring music to people’s life stays the same every time.

The objective is simple – we want to inspire as many people as possible through all generations to enjoy classical music.

The popularity of our ensemble is reflected in the fact of giving 300 concerts a year around the globe and listeners throughout the world look forward to a musical encounter with our talented musicians.

Don’t miss this rare opportunity to experience one of Germany’s finest Ensembles performing on Sunday, January 29 at 2pm at St. Paul’s Cathedral in Sale.

Happy at Hyland

HYLAND Community Kindergarten has thanked the Sale and District Lions Club for its generous monetary donation, which has allowed them to buy floor cushions for the youngsters.

The Sale-based kinder recently assisted with one of the club’s weekly charity barbecues in November outside Ranford’s Butchers on Raymond St, with raised money to be shared between the organisations. Families and staff from Hyland were able to help. with a second barbecue, but were unable to participate after a number were infected by COVID.

Hyland Community Kindergarten’s, Kylie Curran, said despite no volunteers being present for the second fundraiser, the Lions Club generously donated the money from both barbecues anyway.

“This donation allowed the kinder to purchase a group set of Indigenous-themed floor cushions,” Ms Curran said.

“We were extremely grateful because fundraising in the last few years has been very challenging, and our local kinders rely on fundraising to purchase essential resources.

“The Indigenous artwork patterned cushions are able to be used for rest times, ‘yarning circle’ Indigenous-based activities, and music times.

“The kinder is very grateful for the Lions club’s assistance.”
