The Quilt Exhibition, hosted at the Maffra Memorial Hall on August 12 and 13, boasted an amazing collection with more than 200 quilts on display.

Members of Primary Patchworkers of Sale welcomed more than four hundred visitors throughout the weekend, enjoying the diverse range of quilts and other patchwork articles.

A quilt made by Primary Patchworkers members was donated to the Newborn Intensive Care Foundation (NICF) for a raffle. The trading table and the quilt raised more than $3750.

NICF Chairman Peter Cursley thanked the Group for their generous donation and announced that the funds would go towards sofa beds for Sale Hospital’s maternity ward.

The winner of the Raffle Quilt was Mary Sinclair from Melbourne. Mary was delighted with her win and, as a former teacher, had been visiting for a school reunion at Maffra Secondary College.

Winner of the second prize, beautiful rope baskets donated by Lisa Manning were won by Caroline from Sale.

The Bundulaguah CWA provided wonderful catering in the supper room, and visitors were able to relax and catch up with friends while enjoying morning tea and lunch, then resume their tour around the quilt displays.

The Maffra Memorial Hall is an excellent venue for a function such as this.

Primary Patchworkers thanked all those who assisted in setting up the display and all who attended the exhibition and provided such great feedback.

“We would also like to thank the Gippsland Times for their promotion of this great exhibition,” a Primary Patchworkers spokesperson said.
