COWWARR Primary School is very lucky. The generosity and support received by Cowwarr Primary School from caring people has given the school many opportunities – the latest being a chance to install an Automated External Defibrillator.

Firstly, Defibrillators Australia reduced the price of this device so it was more affordable for the school, then the Community Bank of Heyfield & District approved a grant for the school to purchase an AED. The school installed the new defibrillator and arranged Tim from Kemp Aquatics to educate students and the community on how to use the defibrillator safely.

Cowwarr Primary School said they were extremely grateful and thankful for the generosity of all involved. An Automated External Defibrillator is a life saving device and will be a valuable asset to the Cowwarr community.

Cowwarr Primary School has an enrolment of only 19 students, but undertakes a variety of fundraisers during the year.

The school recently held a gumboot-a-thon, where staff and students walked laps around Cowwarr in … you guessed it, gumboots.

The school has raised money for Drought Relief, Flying Doctors and the local homeless through Sale’s Uniting Care. The gumboot-a-thon raised nearly $7000 for Latrobe Regional Hospital and their Better Care for Breast Cancer appeal.
