A HEYFIELD businessman is offering a reward for information that leads to the return of the post driver, which was stolen from his tractor.
Heyfield Fencing Contractors principal Graeme Weatherley said the post driver on his tractor was stolen from an auction site at Longford on Saturday, October 4.
“As a 15-year member of a local Lions Club and being involved in organising 70-plus clearing sales to raise money for local charities and needy organisations, I have found this act of injustice despicable,” he said.
“My business supports three families who are now out of work thanks to someone’s selfish act.”
Mr Weatherley said the Lions Club involved put in 90 man hours to raise about $1500 for charity all voluntary.
“It is not only the $15,000 value of the post driver but the inconvenience to a 30-year business, families and clients,” he said.
Mr Weatherley said a substantial reward was on offer for information leading to the return of the machine in working order.
“I would like to publicly thank those generous people that have offered me a machine to continue my business,” he said.
Mr Weatherley urged people with information to phone Wellington Crime Investigation Unit on 5143 5000.
