A LIGHTNING strike is the likely cause of a fire near Loch Sport this week.
The fire in coastal park six kilometre east of Loch Sport was contained at two hectares on Tuesday and declared safe on Wednesday.
Department of Environment and Primary Industries and CFA firefighters battled the bushfire, supported by four tankers, a dozer and a helicopter. Crews constructed a mineral earth line around the fire, which was fanned by heavy winds.
The Loch Sport township was not under threat from the bushfire.
