A 40-YEAR-old Yarram man has been remanded following a siege in Maxwell Court, Yarram on Monday morning.
Locals reported a man yelling and screaming at about 5am on Monday.
Police arrived at the scene and the man came out of the house brandishing a knife before retreating back inside. Police attempted to negotiate with the man, who came out of the house at about 8.15am and confronted police.
Police deployed a taser to carry out the arrest, with the man conveyed to Latrobe Regional Hospital under police guard for assessment.
The man has been discharged from LRH and has been remanded, charged with numerous offences including affray, assault and threats.
It follows a similar incident on July 7 last year, when the same man held police at bay for 10 hours, refusing to drop his weapon (a knife) before he was tasered, arrested and taken to LRH for assessment and treatment.
POLICE have charged a 35-year-old Rosedale man with assault police and firearm offences.
Police found the man with an imitation firearm at a property in Rosedale on Wednesday night.
He has been bailed and charged with assault police and firearm offences.
