A LOCAL teenager has been issued with two infringement notices for allegedly riding a ride-on lawnmower on a roadway near Stratford.
The teenager received two infringement notices for driving an unregistered vehicle and driving while unlicensed.
Police allege the teenager was seen riding the lawnmower on a roadway near Stratford for about two kilometres before being stopped by police.
Police said they acted as they believed the boy posed a threat to himself and other road users, adding he had previously been warned against driving an unregistered vehicle while unlicensed.
The alleged incident happened several weeks ago and attracted national media coverage.
The accused teenager has advised police he intends to have the matter heard at Children’s Court.
