POLICE are treating a house fire in Sale on Thursday night as suspicious.
Fire crews fought 40 minutes to bring the fire in the vacant single storey weatherboard house in Thomson St under control.
The fire destroyed about 70 per cent of the house.
Meanwhile, police are investigating a fire at an address on Chestnut Avenue, Morwell about 5.30pm.
The blaze began in the roof and was quickly contained, which prevented damage to the remainder of the house and allowed police to forensically examine the scene.
Preliminary investigations indicated the arsonists entered the rear yard of the property shortly before the fire was discovered.
