Three women arrested in Rosedale drug intercept

A ROUTINE police check at Rosedale on Thursday night resulted in three women being charged with drug offences and proceeds of crime.

Rosedale police intercepted the car, with the three woman on board, on the Princes Highway just after 11pm.

A search of the vehicle resulted in police allegedly finding a quantity of cannabis and methamphetamine and a large amount of cash.

A 49-year-old woman, of no fixed place of address, has been charged with traffick drug of dependence, possess drug of dependence and possess property suspected of being the proceeds of crime.

The woman is still in police custody and will be presented to the Latrobe Valley Magistrates’ Court for a remand hearing later in the day.

The two other women, a 54-year-old from Fulham and a 35-year-old from Sale, have been released pending summons.
