Criminal damage in Maffra

POLICE from Maffra and Heyfield attended an incident in Morison St, Maffra, on Saturday night in relation to a man acting aggressively.

A 19-year-old Maffra man was arrested at the scene for criminal damage to a car, threatening to inflict serious injury and three counts of unlawful assault.

He was charged and bailed to appear at Sale Magistrates’ Court in January.

LOCAL police conducted a traffic operation in the Wellington police service area over the Melbourne Cup long weekend.

Using Automated Number Plate Recognition technology, police conducted checks of more than 3700 vehicles travelling on the roads within Wellington Shire.

Inspection sites were conducted in Rosedale, Maffra, Stratford and Sale over a two day period.

More than 800 preliminary breath tests were conducted and 27 traffic offences were detected including suspended drivers, unlicensed drivers, unregistered motor vehicles, speeding offences and a drug driver.
