MAJOR Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following a fatal crash in Gormandale last year which claimed the life of a two-year-old boy.
The crash happened on the Hyland Highway on August 17 when the vehicle left the road and struck a tree about 3.45pm.
The Yarram boy died in hospital later that night.
The male driver of the car was airlifted to the Royal Melbourne Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police have charged a 50-year-old Yarram man with culpable driving, dangerous driving causing death, reckless conduct endangering life, reckless conduct endangering serious injury and careless driving.
He has been bailed to appear at Latrobe Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.
