SALE-Heyfield Rd between the Princes Highway and Fulham-Myrtlebank Rd will be temporarily closed to traffic from this Friday until April 30.
The road closure will enable VicRoads to carry out reconstruction works on the Sale-Heyfield Rd approach to a new roundabout being built on the Princes Highway as part of the Traralgon to Sale duplication.
In addition to the road closure, traffic will be switched onto the new road as part of the duplication works.
The right turn into Polocross Lane will be restricted for east bound traffic while works are carried out, with access via a U-turn at Reid Drive.
Access to Sale-Heyfield Rd at the highway following its re-opening will be via a temporary T-intersection to allow continued strengthening of the existing highway (Sale bound lanes) and remaining construction of the roundabout.
A detour will be in place for local road users while the Sale-Heyfield Rd is closed.
VicRoads is encouraging motorists to continue along the Princes Highway at both the east and western entries to Sale.
The temporary closure of the Sale-Heyfield Rd will help minimise the duration and impact of the construction works on the travelling public and improve safety for the public and workers on site.
VicRoads reminded motorists to remain aware of changed traffic conditions and reduced speed zones.
