Attempted armed robbery in Sale

A DRAMATIC ending to a police car chase, after an alleged attempted armed robbery in Sale, has involved a man being arrested on a Traralgon rooftop.

It is reported a 21-year-old Warragul man armed with a firearm attempted to rob the Dawson St premises just before 7pm.

The male fled the scene in a stolen vehicle when a pursuit was initiated on the Princes Hwy in Flynn and terminated at Bridges Ave in Traralgon. A 22-year-old Drouin female passenger was arrested and the 21-year-old Warragul male was arrested on the roof of a shed nearby about 8.30pm.

The pair are currently in custody assisting police with their enquiries.

It is alleged a hacker interfered with the police’s radio system during the pursuit, impersonating an officer in an attempt to call off the chase. Police are investigating a number of disruptions to radio transmissions during the chase.
