Fine after failing two drug tests

AFTER failing two oral fluid tests in a month, a man was convicted and fined $1500 in the Sale Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.

Russel Owen pleaded guilty to two counts of failing oral fluid tests and one count of driving an unregistered motor vehicle.

In August last year, Owen was stopped on the Traralgon-Maffra Rd outside Glengarry.

A sample was sent to Melbourne for analysis, and was positive for methamphetamine.

Later that month, Owen was stopped again near Winnindoo, driving a vehicle with no number plates.

He had an unregistered vehicle permit, but it had expired the week before.

Another oral fluid test was positive for meth.

As well as the fine, Owen’s licence was cancelled and he was disqualified from driving for 12 months.
