Wrong side of the freeway


POLICE from Dandenong Divisional Response Unit have charged a 23-year-old Traralgon man following an alleged incident on the Monash Freeway on Sunday.

It is alleged a man was driving erratically along the outbound lanes of the freeway in Berwick about 3.40am.

When police attempted to intercept him he allegedly refused to stop, but fled the car after it caught fire about 4.10am near he Tynong Rd exit in Tynong.

The driver, a 23-year-old Traralgon man, was arrested shortly after in nearby bushland. He was charged with conduct endangering life and other unrelated offences and has been remanded to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on April 9.
