Drug driving charges

A WOMAN will face drug driving and other charges after being intercepted by Wellington Highway Patrol in Sale on Wednesday.

The 40-year-old woman was stopped by police on Desailly St, after being detected driving an unregistered vehicle.

After undergoing a breathalyser and drug test, methamphetamine and cannabis were allegedly detected.

The woman refused to accompany police for another oral fluid test, and after a search of the vehicle, police allegedly found a knife and cannabis.

She will be charged on summons.

WELLINGTON Highway Patrol chased down a car in Sale on Monday afternoon, after it failed to stop when lights were activated.

Officers found the vehicle dumped on Fitzroy St, with three occupants fleeing.

The 22-year-old driver was known to police, and handed himself in on Wednesday.

He will face Sale Magistrates’ Court on traffic-related charges.
