Man airlifted

A 70-year-old man was airlifted to Melbourne with serious injuries after a car accident on the Hyland Highway on Saturday morning.

The man, the vehicle’s only occupant, was travelling north in rainy conditions when his vehicle hit a tree.

The State Emergency Service freed him from the wreckage. Police are investigating, and liaising with VicRoads.

AN 80-year-old Sale man was taken to hospital for observation after being knocked off his bike by a car on Friday afternoon.

The man was riding north down York St, Sale, when a driver failed to see him when exiting a petrol station.

Police are investigating.

A MAFFRA woman is expected to be charged on summons after two separate collisions in Boisdale early Sunday morning.

The 42-year-old woman was allegedly involved in a collision at the Luckmans Rd and Boisdale-Valencia Creek Rd intersection, and a collision in town on the Maffra-Briagolong Rd.

Police said she could be charged with driving under the influence and failing to report an accident.

A 25-year-old Yarram man was banned from licensed venues in Wellington Shire after a series of incidents.

A report was made to police for offensive behaviour at the Yarram Country Club on Sunday.

The Wellington Liquor Accord ban will be in effect for one year.

POLICE are investigating after two cars were found broken into at the Stratford train station on Friday morning.

Both had severely damaged interiors, and one had property stolen.

It is believed the cars were broken into between 11pm on Thursday and 7am on Friday.
