A UNLICENSED driver will have to pay almost $1000 to have an unregistered vehicle released from impound after being nabbed by police.
A bystander reported the vehicle driving erratically in Raymond St, Sale, about 9am Tuesday last week, and reported it to police.
The vehicle had allegedly been driven the wrong way down the one way lane that links the Coles carpark to Raymond St.
Police found the driver seated in the car in nearby Macarthur St.
The vehicle did not have any registration plates, and checks revealed the driver was unlicensed and the vehicle unregistered.
The vehicle has been impounded for 30 days at a cost of $995.
