Plane crash near Yarram

A 17-YEAR-old boy and his 74-year-old male passenger were taken to hospital after their plane crashed near Yarram on Saturday.

The pair were flying back to Latrobe Valley Airport from Yarram when the fixed-wing aircraft experienced engine trouble and crash-landed into trees on Balloong Rd, Hunterston, about 2.45pm.

The pilot was conveyed to Yarram hospital with minor injuries, while his passenger was airlifted to Melbourne.
