Attempted armed robbery in Lucknow

EAST Gippsland Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance to help identify a man following an attempted armed robbery in Lucknow earlier this month.

Investigators have been told two unknown men attended the Princes Highway service station about 1.20am on March 22.

One man entered the service station armed with a tomahawk and made a demand for cigarettes and cash, whilst the second man waited outside.

When the attendant refused to hand anything over both men fled towards Hadfield Street empty handed.

Investigators have released CCTV footage of a man who they believe can assist with inquiries.
