AT least eight cars have been damaged by homemade tyre spikes left on Beet Rd, near Stratford.
A post circulating local social media noticeboard sites warning people to be on the lookout for spikes on Beet Rd has been confirmed by police.
The spikes are made from screws lodged in cardboard, and have been placed sharp-end up in the middle of the road during evenings, in the vicinity of 230-234 Beet Rd.
There are fears the spikes could cause a serious accident.
Local police urge anyone who has been near Beet Rd, Maffra, in the past few weeks who has information or dash camera footage of suspicious behaviour around the roadway to let them know by phoning Maffra police on 5147 1026, Stratford police on 5145 6404, the Police Assistance Line 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
