ANYONE with an interest in refining their artistic skills over a friendly cuppa and a chat is invited to a ”come and try” day at the sale Art Circle this coming Wednesday.
Sale Art Circle is the brainchild of art enthusiasts and friends Sandy Martyn and Gaye Harper, who wanted to form a local art group after travelling to Morwell for several years.
Ms Martyn said they wanted to create a group closer to home that could inspire and mentor budding artists and bring people together to socialise and learn at the same time.
”We started this group earlier this year but COVID has put a dampener on things so we’d now like to get more people involved,” she said.
”Ít’s a whole lot of fun, we chat and we paint or draw, and it’s a helpful environment for anyone wants to learn or be inspired.”
The group meets at the Gwen Webb Centre in Market St, Sale, every Wednesday, from 10am to 3pm, and invites people to take their own art supplies and piece to work on, and have some fun.
Morning tea is shared among the group, and tea and coffee is provided.
Cost is $10 per session to cover rent, and there are plans for workshops and art-focused outings and trips.
“We’d love people to come and meet us on Wednesday and see how they like it,” Ms Martyn said.
