In response to the positive COVID-19 case in Latrobe City, an additional pop-up, drive-through testing site will be established at the Traralgon Recreation Reserve.Testing site operating hours: Traralgon Recreation Reserve: Drive through 9.30am to 5pm Monday, August 30, Tuesday, August 31 and Wednesday, September 1. To access this drive-through clinic, follow traffic management signs and enter from Howitt St (via Liddiard Rd), turning left into the back entrance of the Recreation Reserve. Gippsland Regional Indoor Sports Stadium: Drive through 9.30am to 5pm Monday, August 30, Tuesday, August 31 and Wednesday, September 1. To access this drive-through clinic, follow traffic management signs and enter from Kosciusko St, turning into Catterick Crescent and following the crescent around to the carpark entrance. Refrain from blocking local residents’ driveways. The Latrobe Valley Respiratory Clinic in Morwell has also increased testing capacity. Bookings are required. Traffic management will be in place to assist the flow of traffic at the Traralgon pop-up testing sites to ensure residents in these areas are able to readily access and leave their properties. Gippsland Region Public Health Unit asks that those attending these sites follow the directional traffic signs. The drive-through sites do not require an appointment or referral. As experienced yesterday, it is expected that large numbers of people are expected at both testing sites today. People are being urged to remain patient when queuing for testing and follow the direction of staff at testing sites. The positive COVID case was announced at the weekend, and acquired the virus from outside the region at a funeral. However the person visited a number of locations in Gippsland during their infectious period – from Sunday, August 22 to Tuesday, August 24. Four Tier 2 exposure sites have been identified.They are Coles, Traralgon Centre Plaza, Sunday, August 22, 11.45am to12.25pm; Traralgon Centre Plaza foodcourt (eastern end), Sunday, August 22, 12.25pm to 12.45pm, Friday, August 27, 11.10am to 11.15am; and Woolworths, Seymour St, Monday, August 23, 5.20pm to 5.45pm.Anyone who visited a Tier 2 exposure site during these times should urgently get a COVID-19 test and isolate until they receive a negative result.
