Gippsland Region Public Health Unit has confirmed it is aware of reports of two potential COVID-19 positive cases in east Gippsland, but says the separate cases can’t be confirmed at this time.
In a written statement, the public health unit said on Monday it was “working with the Victorian Department of Health to investigate these matters further”.
“We anticipate more details will be available tomorrow.”
UPDATE: Gippsland Region Public Health Unit has reclassified the two potential positive cases announced yesterday as negative. In a statement, the unit acknowledged it could be “difficult at times, but the GPRHU is committed to practicing due diligence before taking any further action”.
