THE Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party (SFF) of Victoria has announced that former senator Ricky Muir (pictured) will be standing for election in the seat of Gippsland East in the 2022 Victorian State Election.
Mr Muir, born in Maffra, is a small business owner who says he is passionate about providing support and fair treatment for Gippslanders. He has been an advocate for outdoor recreations for many years, being a keen motor sport enthusiast, mountain bike rider, shooter, and prospector.
Mr Muir was elected on the Australian Motoring Enthusiast Party (AMEP) ticket and served as a senator from 2014 to 2016. AMEP no longer exists as a party.
He attempted an unsuccessful political comeback after joining the SFF in 2017 by running for the Victorian state seat of Morwell in the 2018 election. He tried politics again as SFF’s lead Senate candidate at the 2019 federal election, but once again was not elected.
