POLICE taped off the entirety of Futcher Court in Sale, after one of the houses burnt down last Monday afternoon (January 9).

One eyewitness first became aware of the fire at 3.20pm on Monday, and sent photos to the Gippsland Times.

At 4.30pm, the police and the fire brigade were on the scene, with Futcher Ct off limits to the public because of police tape.

A police media statement sent to this reporter said “emergency services were called to a house fire in Sale on Monday, 9 January”.

“The fire caused significant damage to the property when it caught alight just after 3pm. No one was injured,” the statement said.

“The cause of the fire is being investigated however at this stage it’s not being treated as suspicious.
