The state government is boosting ambulance resources in Gippsland, making sure paramedics have the facilities and support they need to quickly respond to local emergencies and save lives.
Minister for Ambulance Services Gabrielle Williams, announced that construction has started on the Morwell Ambulance superstation, the new Foster Ambulance Station, and a site has been secured for the new multi-million-dollar Paynesville Ambulance Station.
“We’re delivering six bigger and better ambulance stations in Gippsland because we know locals rely on the expertise, compassion and commitment of our paramedics,” Ms Williams said.
“We also know that paramedics need modern workplaces, and the latest equipment to stay safe at work and deliver the best care.”
The new Morwell Ambulance Station will feature a nine-bay garage for ambulances, eight rest and recline areas for paramedics to recuperate, training facilities, a fully equipped kitchen and improved security and car parking to make sure paramedics are safe.
Construction for the new Morwell Ambulance Station is on track to be completed in late-2023.
Construction is also under way on the new Foster Ambulance Station on Station Road, which will feature a three-bay garage, two rest and recline areas, training facilities, a fully equipped kitchen and improved security and car parking.
Construction for the new Foster Ambulance Station is on track to be completed in the second half of the year.
A new multi-million-dollar ambulance station will also be built, on Paynesville Road, Paynesville.

In more welcome news for the local community, the process to secure a parcel of land for the new Yarram Ambulance Station is progressing.
Paramedics are already operating from two new multi-million-dollar ambulance stations in Moe and Warragul.
The new Moe Ambulance Station features a five-bay garage and four rest and recline areas, while the new Warragul West Ambulance Station has a four-bay garage and four rest and recline areas.
The state government has committed almost $250 million since 2015 to upgrade and rebuild ambulance stations to provide better working conditions for paramedics and ensure lifesaving emergency care is available for all Victorians.
