Detectives from the Armed Crime Squad are investigating a firearms incident in Toongabbie on July 14.
Officers have been told a 65-year-old man was shot during an altercation with an unknown person outside a residence on King Street just after 11pm.
The unknown person fled the scene, while the man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Victoria Police told the Gippsland Times on Friday (July 19) there were no further updates, and the investigation remains ongoing.
