Brothers on cue for success

MAFFRA’S Jack Green has again been selected to represent Victoria at the eight-ball national championships, while brother Cameron will try his luck in the singles competition.

Jack, competing in the under 12s, won through to the state team after competing in a knockout tournament at Bar 8 in Bundoora.

Competition was fierce, with an increase of competitors from last year’s event, but Jack rose to the occasion, taking out the title of Victorian under 12 champion for the second consecutive year. He will compete in the national championships to be held on the Gold Coast in January.

Knocked out in the semi-finals during the qualification event in Bundoora, Cameron will turn his attention to the under 15 singles competition on the Gold Coast.

Both boys are carrying good form with success in local summer competition.

They will both continue local competition, playing Wellington Eight Ball on Monday nights and Maffra and District competition on Wednesdays.

Jack will also need to attend several meetings and training sessions in Bundoora in preparation for the nationals, and the family is again seeking sponsorship.
