STRATFORD moved to top of the Sale-Maffra twenty20 cricket table with victory over Heyfield on Tuesday night.
The Redbacks posted 6-170 before restricting Heyfield to 122 to remain undefeated.
Deepak Gussain did his best to restrict the Redbacks with 3-34.
Alex Van Doeslaar top-scored with 30 in reply, but Heyfield lost wickets
at regular intervals with Josh Paxton-White falling stumped off the bowling of Jeremy Jones, who led the bowling with four wickets, off the final ball of the innings.
Danny Stokes, Corey Sullivan and Fergus Anderson also showed some resistance for Heyfield.
AN unbeaten 89 from Nick Grainger helped Collegians defeat Wurruk in a tight contest.
Grainger carried his bat and with support from Elliott Cafferkey, Kerrod Macgregor-Davies and Elliott Durrant, helped Collegians post 6-150.
Eranda Aponso and Leonard Van der Velden shared the wickets for the Toads.
Aponso, Jonny Honeyman and Bohdi Walker (31) helped the Toads to 5-90, Collegians making it difficult for batsmen to settle by mixing up the bowling.
All 11 Collegians players took their turn with the ball, with the wickets shared.
A quick-fire unbeaten 42 from Van der Velden ensured Wurruk gave it a good shake, with the Toads finishing on 5-135.
MATT Raidal and Nico Watt did the damage as Sale prevailed over Bundalaguah at home in the rematch of last season’s final.
David Braithwaite, who top scored with 26, and Matt Dowsett got Bundalaguah off to a good start, but Raidal and Watt proved damaging, Bundalaguah losing 10 wickets for just 38 runs.
Raidal got the breakthrough, with keeper Adam Jackson throwing down the stumps as Dowsett attempted a big hit before removing Ben Saxon to be on a hat-trick.
Raidal returned the figures of 5-17, while Watt finished with 5-9 with Bundalaguah all out for 60.
Jackson and Tom Wicks put on 41 for the first wicket to ensure Sale was well on the way to victory. Brendon Rathnow finished unbeaten on 47 with Sale posting 2-122.
Karl High and Garry Williams were the wicket takers for Bundalaguah.
BOISDALE-Briagolong had the bye.
