Sale maintains unbeaten start

SALE’S 19 and under team powered away to defeat Pakenham by 16 goals during the third round of the Regional Victorian Netball League.

In the battle between two undefeated teams last Friday night, Sale began strongly, powering through the first quarter to lead by three at the break.

Sale continued working its opposition to 27-16 at half-time before cruising into the end of the game to win 52-36.

Sale will have the bye for this Friday night’s round.

In last week’s other 19 and under match, Gippsland defeated Mid Gippsland 52-40 to remain unbeaten.

Gippsland easily won the first quarter, setting up a 10-goal lead. Mid Gippsland kept with its opponent for the second quarter, maintaining the 10-goal deficit at the main break.

Gippsland had the edge in the second half to win by 12. 

North Gippsland had the bye.

IN the open division, Gippsland took charge from the first whistle to score an impressive 60-31 victory over Morwell Indoor.

After trailing by two at three-quarter-time, Mid Gippsland defeated East Gippsland 46-45.

Mid Gippsland was missing star goal attack Jess Holland and her sister, wing attack Dannielle Hillier.

The teams went goal-for-goal for most of the match was goal, with strong defence work in the final term giving Mid Gippsland victory.
