Cats claw into Tigers

A RAMPAGING Lindenow easily accounted for last year’s East Gippsland football premier Wy Yung.

The Cats defeated their grand final conqueror 12.13 (85) to 7.6 (48) on Saturday.

The Cats are four from four, and despite a brief comeback from Boisdale-Briagolong last week, have been unstoppable.

Best-on-ground Luke Dyer kicked four goals, with Morgan Davies, Daniel Abbott, William Blackley, Jack van Reyk and Paul Gould also among the Cats’ best.

For Wy Yung, Daniel Dalton kicked three goals, with Matthew Arnold, Robert Brick, Nathan Dennison, Alex Kater, Ryan Ladson and Tom Ogilvie its best.

ON Saturday night, Lucknow defeated Paynesville 8.16 (64) to 6.15 (51).

It has not been a fantastic beginning for the Gulls, who fought hard to keep up with the Magpies this week.

Playing under lights at home did not help either, with both teams struggling to kick majors.

Lucknow’s best were Peter Jenner, Ryan Halford, Keenan Hynes, Brent Isles, Joel Kelly and Ashley Smith, with Shaun Ryan kicking three goals.

Brayden Radford, Harley Piper, Shane Jamieson, Aaron Cameron, Ashley Pescod, and Damien Ashcroft, with his three goals, were best for the home side.
