Sharks out-classed

A LOSS to Mornington Peninsula has left Sale-Maffra needing to defeat Traralgon to make the Country Week cricket provincial division semi-finals.

After winning their opening match on Monday, the Sharks were out-classed on Tuesday by Mornington Peninsula at Brighton.

Mornington scored 5-288 from its 50 overs, with captain Robert Wilson scoring 89 and Kierran Voelkl 85. These two batsmen put on 161 runs for the third wicket.

Brad Scott claimed two wickets for Sale-Maffra.

The Sharks were then bowled out for 197. Wilson completed a fine all-round performance, taking 4-39.

On Wednesday, Sale-Maffra will play Traralgon at Casey Fields, Cranbourne North.
